Wiesensteig - old and picturesque little town

Situated in the middle of the "Swabian Alb" Wiesensteig is one of these typical very nice towns with half-timbered houses which are typical for these region. Wiesensteig is located in a small valley embedded in the hills of the Swabian Alb.

The castle was built in the middle of the 15th century. In  1598 the first potatoes of Germany were planted here, not for eating but in order to view the nice bloom.

At the top of the fountain there is located a elephant with the city coat of arms.

This next picture shows the Collegiate Church St. Cyriakus

  3. The view in your first photo is delightful, both the countryside and the buildings. Another wonderful town with a rich history.
