Illuminated harbor in Bari (Puglia)

Unfortunately  in the following photos in the harbor of Bari it was a bit too dark, so the enlightened atmosphere is sadly illustrated and not really clear.

Castello Normanno-Svevo (Bari-Puglia)

Far away from our native Swabia in southern Italy we saw amazingly a Swabian castle. Informed by the guide book we could read, that the "Castello" were rebuilt by the Hohenstaufen Emperor Friedrich II in the 13th Century. We visited the pretty castle and found both outside and inside a few interesting corners.

Basilica San Nicola (Bari - Puglia)

The Romanesque church of San Nicola in Bari is built of white limestone. Inside it is decorated with a richly decorated wooden ceiling and the altar is covered with a magnificent canopy. In the crypt are the putative remains of St. Nicholas. Therefore, this part of the church is still a popular pilgrimage destination.

Sassi di Matera

Above the steep and craggy cliffs of the valley Gravina di Matera (Region Basilikata) there is a wonderful place in which time seems to have been stopped since hundered of years.

Upon arrival we were impressed by the incredible scenery

Around every corner we found impressive places and buildings which are partly built inside the rock.

During our visit we didn't have good weather. Unfortunately, we had always snowfall, but there are certainly still some opportunities to visit this wonderful place again in summer ...

Valle d'Itria - Valley of the Trullis (Puglia - Italia)

To breathe a little air of spring, we decided to spend a weekend in the south of Italy to (Bari). Unfortunately the weather was not so completely and we had rain and snow, but we saw fantastic locations and wonderful landscapes. The Valley of Trulli is really worth seeing. Everywhere the trullis are situated as pointed caps into the sky. Today these "Trullis"are not only small little farmhouses, but they are committed to modern architecture.

Fish - as far as the sea reaches (Cabo Verde)

During our dives in Cabo Verde, we not only had unique encounters with wonderful fishes, but also experienced a particularly richness in  fish. It was noted that a lot of different fish and large schools of fish were present. Below we have selected a few photos.
