Donaufest (festival of the Danube) in Ulm

At Ulm the Danube is achieving navigable. Every year there is a festival with all the countries through which the Danube flows. There are are a lot of activities and a Arts and Crafts Market with sellers and foods from the 10 countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Moldova and the Ukraine) of the Danube.
The festival is on both sides of the river. For getting on the other side you can take the solar ferry.














The products which are sold at the market are usually handmade.

  2. wie farbenfroh und wie gemütlich! ich liebe die Champighnons...würde gerne einmal zum markt kommen (ist es nur an einem WE):-)vlg und eine gute neue Woche von uns, heute haben wir frei und geniessen Lorraine, bei den Eltern von Nico:-)

  3. Thank you for the comments. I like the baskets, too. On the festival you can watch the basket weavers at work. They produce a lot of pieces of art just with branches. Yes, on the last photo are some soaps in different fragrances (roses, lavender, aloe vera, lemon grass and the blue one... i didn't believe... it's made with mud from the dead sea)

  4. Hallo Jana! Das Fest geht 10 Tage und findet alle zwei Jahre statt. Es gibt vieles zum sehen und probieren. Bratwurst aus Ungarn (sehr lecker), Käse aus Rumänien (mniam) und vieles mehr. Mit einem Boot kann man über die Donau fahren. Holzschnitzereien aus verschiedenen Ländern und jede Menge Informationen über die Donau und der Bevölkerung an der Donau in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten. Ebenfalls eine sehr schöne Woche von uns und geniesst den Tag.
